My first year of college has really had a lot of ups and downs and I could always count on my new friends as well as the one that go to different schools to be there for me. This past year I have truly come to understand who my real friends are and who to trust and who not to trust. I have learned a great deal of responsibility and I know that I have learned from peoples mistakes. I have also learned how to manage my time and how to manage it wisely. Also college is nothing like high school simply because if you do not do something then it is as simple as that, it will never get done. I know that next year will be just as tough or even harder than last year but I know that I can handle it. I recently changed my major and my next year classes have a lot to do with my major. I hope that I enjoy my classes and I do not have to change my major again.

Yesterday, my roommate and I moved out of my dorm and we finished our first year of college, it was rather sad. My roommate is not coming back next year she is moving back home and going to UNO. I know that I will see her next year, but I it not going to be the same. We have been friends since Pre-K, and really we really got close this past year. I am also going to miss the other friends that I have made throughout my first year. I had to tell everyone bye but I know that I will see them over the summer. Also me and my cousin have gotten extremely close this year, and she is now moving down the street from me. Although she is family she has probably made one of my best friends. Next year we are living down the hall from one another and I can not wait. I am very sad that this year had to end but I am happy to be home and I can not wait to see all of my friends from LSU!!! I can not wait form next year to start because I know that it will be more fun than last year.

I have taken Math 101 this semester and Math has not always been my best subject and I defiantly struggle with it. The University totally changed the program this semester and now you only go to class once a week and go to the lab for the three hours a week. You have a teacher stand in front of a class for one hour and then you must attend the lab where teachers walk around helping you with particular problems. Many would think that this would be a better way to teach because there is more one on one help, but I had a hard time because I could not physically see what the teachers in the lab were trying to explain. All of the many teachers taught the problem differently. Also you were expected to take your test, quizzes, and homework on the computer. It took me awhile to understand how to type all of the answers in correctly, but after awhile it became very easy. I have always done my time in the lab but I was just not grasping the concept of what I was supposed to be learning at the time. I did okay on my first two test and then I made A’s on the last two tests. Now my total average was an 89.2% which meant I had a B, but I still had to take the exam. I new I must study very hard because I wanted an A. Well, the exam was cumulative and it was now hand written instead of on the computer so this was to my best advantage because now you were able to receive particle credit. Well I checked my grade and I received an 86 on my exam. The best part is that your exam grade replaces your lowest test score, which mine was a C, so I am getting an A in the class!!!!! I was very excited and all of my hard work paid off.
